Julie Allen Bridals was founded by Julie Allen in 1970 in the basement of her home in Newtown, CT. After a successful career in store management, she decided that she wanted a job that would allow her to spend more time with her family while being her own boss. In the early 1990s, Julie and her daughter, Melanie, moved the business to a rental location on Rt 25. A few years later, Melanie purchased property to fulfill her dream of having a beautiful custom built location that became one of the largest bridal shops in the state of Connecticut. The business moved to its current 7400 ft. location in 1993 and has remained there since.
Our mission has always been to provide brides with a personalized bridal shopping experience. We like brides to feel like they are at home in a fun and friendly environment while trying on gowns with their family and friends.
We are proud to feature one of the best plus size gown selections in the state, with top designers for sizes 18-26 including Jasmine Bridals and Allure Bridals.
